Homemade pulled pork and lemon bars greeted hearty appetites when Mayor Bach, Steve Cox, Chief Brown, firefighters and staff attended the Mayor’s third Brown Bag Lunch at Fire Station 8 on Thursday, January 19th.
As is often the case, the Mayor began with opening comments then encouraged participants to share their opinions and ask questions, which prompted a lively discussion.
Key goals on Mayor Bach’s list include the need for Colorado Springs to attain fiscal sustainability, deliver best-in-class service and to attract and retain the best people.
Since fighting fires is “Job One”, discussion was often mixed with hasty exits from the room.
The Mayor’s comments and questions revolved around a wide variety of topics including Colorado’s changing demographics, economic vitality and creating a more business friendly community, among others.
Mayor Bach closed the event with an uplifting philosophy for the future, “We’re going to rebuild trust in city government and together we can find more ways to get better!”
