Over a hundred volunteers gathered early Saturday morning to clean up medians and right of ways around Colorado Springs. This was the first “Spruce up the Springs” day dedicated to pulling and cutting weeds and picking up trash. Teams were assigned various locations around the city and worked from 7:30 to 11:30am. After the clean-up, volunteers met at Security Service Field for a lunch provided by Chick-fil-a. Spruce -Up was coordinated by City Park’s Director Karen Palus. ”I am so encouraged by the turn-out and what the volunteers were able to accomplish in one morning – my thanks to Karen and all of the volunteers,” said Mayor Bach.
