Senator Bennet and Mayor Bach tour Waldo Canyon Fire burn area

U.S. Senator Michael Bennet, Mayor Steve Bach, other local officials, and members of the media participated in a tour of an area of the Flying W Ranch impacted by the Waldo Canyon Fire.

The tour was put together by the Coalition for the Upper South Platte (CUSP). CUSP is partnering with the City and AmeriCorps volunteers to construct a series of flood and debris catchments to mitigate the effects of possible future floods.

Senator Bennet also used the visit as an opportunity to remind Colorado Springs that he is working hard on legislation to acquire funding for restoration and safety efforts in the Waldo Canyon Fire burn area.
