Mayor’s International Student Reception

The Colorado Springs melting pot was on full display Saturday, November 10th at the Mayor’s Annual International Student Reception. 75 students and educators from dozens of countries met with Mayor Steve Bach and his wife Suzi at the Penrose House.

On hand were students and teachers from the Air Force Academy, Colorado College, Pikes Peak Community College, UCCS, and CTU. Each international individual introduced themselves, stated what they are studying, and shared what surprised them most about America. Answers ranged from the friendliness of the people to the fact that drivers honor street signs.

Thanks to Air Force Academy Professor Dr. Fran Pilch, President of the Center for Diplomacy and Democracy Richard Soudriette and El Pomar Foundation Chairman Bill Hybl for hosting the event.
