Mayor Bach spoke to numerous business, networking and trade association groups this week, on topics including political engagement, driving new business to Colorado Springs, leadership and innovation.
He spoke to the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce Rising Professionals, Colorado Springs Executives Association and a Joint Round Table Luncheon of the Building Owners and Managers Association, Institute of Real Estate Management and International Facility Management Association.
The Mayor is always energized by being with people who are so optimistic about Colorado Springs and speaking at these events reinforces that feeling.
At CSEA, he spoke about the importance of creating a business-friendly environment and supporting local businesses that face Internet competition. He thanked Doug Berwick and Executive Director, Tricia Muehlbauer, for extending the invitation to speak.
He saw many friends in the audience and made some new ones. With Spring right around the corner, he spoke with the owner of Angler’s Covey, David Leinweber (above) about visiting the shop to check out their fly-fishing supplies.
At the Joint Round Table Luncheon for the Building Owners and Managers Association, Institute of Real Estate Management and International Facility Management Association, he thanked members and BOMA Board Member, Tyrone Johnson, for the warm welcome.
“Colorado Springs is a city on the move,” he said. That message was not only inspiring and optimistic, but particularly relevant for an audience that serves the real estate, building and facility management industries.
The Mayor’s presentation also focused on how we can provide great customer service and the importance of stepping up and getting involved in our community.
The Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce Rising Professionals know the importance of attracting and retaining a pool of young talent in the region. Their mission is congruent with Mayor Bach’s efforts to cultivate the next generation of leaders.
Mayor Bach talked about the importance of the Spirit of the Springs Initiative to build cohesiveness in our community. He also spoke about becoming a leader, noting that “Leadership is earned, not handed to you. It’s time to step up. This is a time of great opportunity for those who want to become involved.”
