Mayor Steve Bach attended the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) annual scholarship luncheon, at the Antlers Hilton Hotel, where he presented 35 graduating high school students with $30,000 in STEM-focused (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) scholarships for college.
The NDIA is America’s leading Defense Industry association promoting national security, which provides a legal and ethical forum for exchanging information between industry and government on national security issues.
The luncheon celebration was attended by NDIA board members, event organizer Jim Painter, scholarship director Dave Turley, and approximately 100 other people.
The scholarships were given to students pursuing college courses in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
Mayor Bach encouraged the students to pursue their dreams, keep moving forward, and to never give up or give in to adversity.
