Kim Cerjan, a Senior at District 11 Doherty High School, was honored by Mayor and Suzi Bach with a Spirit of the Springs Celebration Award for her basketball championships and academic achievements. Council Member Angela Dougan, District 11 Superintendent Dr. Nicholas Gledich , Doherty Principal Dennis Vigil, Athletic Director Chris Noll, family, friends and many others were there to congratulate Kim.
Kim is one of those rare young people who has her eye on the ball in more ways than one. An exceptional student, she holds a 4.23 GPA and has only missed one day of school since kindergarten. She will attend St. Olaf College in Minnesota upon graduation and chose that school because academics take precedence – basketball is geared around scholastics, not the other way around.
Her family says she’s also an artist and will pursue pre-veterinary studies at St. Olaf.
