This week, Mayor Steve Bach presented School District 11 with a Spirit of the Springs award to honor its superb academic achievements.
District 11 Superintendent Dr. Nicholas Gledich accepted the award on behalf of four D-11 schools: Steele Elementary School, Chipeta Elementary School, Scott Elementary School, and Edison Elementary School.
Steele, Chipeta, and Scott are the recipients of the John Irwin Award which is given to schools that have met and exceeded their state standards on the TCAP (Transitional Colorado Assessment Program) tests.
Steele Elementary is also the recipient of the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award which is given to schools that continue to show overall academic improvement based on their State Performance Framework.
Edison Elementary also received the Centers for Excellence Award. It is awarded to schools that enroll a student population of at least 75 percent at-risk pupils (defined by English Language Learners and Free and Reduced Lunch status) and receives an Exceeds rating on the school performance framework’s Academic Growth indicator. Please join Mayor Bach in congratulating School District 11!
