Lexi Kluge Recognized with Spirit of the Springs Certificate

Mayor Steve Bach’s Spirit of the Springs initiative is on a roll! Mayor Bach’s wife, Suzi, recently presented a Spirit of the Springs “Celebrate” Certificate to a very dynamic Horizon Middle School student.

Eighth grader, Lexi Kluge, took her passion and compassion for supporting our troops and turned it into a community-wide project.

On a recent trip to Texas, Lexi saw firsthand the sacrifice soldiers make for our country. “I saw some soldiers who were recovering from being hit in roadside bombings, seeing their injuries and what they’re going through is so powerful.”

So Lexi decided she would do something to help: her goal was to collect enough donated items to stuff 100 stockings to send to soldiers serving overseas during the holidays.

Lexi is one of those special individuals who sees an opportunity to help others and pursues it with enthusiasm and commitment. Thanks to Lexi for brightening up the holidays for our troops and also being an inspiration to others!
