Former Bronco to Appear at The Mayor’s Cup
Former Denver Bronco linebacker Randy Gradishar will attend The Mayor’s Cup to lend his celebrity status to this Spirit of the Springs fundraiser. Gradishar spent 10 years with the Denver Broncos and is currently the Director of Corporate Communications for Phil Long Dealerships. He is also president of the Phil Long Community Fund, a non-profit organization that provides financial resources to help champion self-esteem and the leadership of young people through excellence in education, sports, and recreation.
Gradishar made seven Pro Bowl appearances in his 10 NFL seasons. He was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1978. He was twice named the Broncos’ Most Valuable Player during their “Orange Crush” years. Gradishar was inducted into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame in 1987 and the Broncos’ Ring of Fame in 1989.
The Mayor’s Cup will be held May 17, 2012 on the east course of The Broadmoor, which is the title sponsor of the event. All proceeds will benefit the City’s Spirit of the Springs programs. Spirit of the Springs is a component fund of the Pikes Peak Community Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization. A panel of citizens will decide on fund appropriations.
