Chief of Staff runs in charity 5K

Mayor Bach’s Chief of Staff, Laura Neumann, daughter Grace, and friends participated in the inaugural “Chasing Santa 5K” held Saturday.  Over 665 attended the University Village Colorado event that raised important funds for the City’s Therapeutic Recreation Program.

Race organizer Michael Pharis began his company, Leave Your Mark Events, 14 months ago but the logistics involved with the Chasing Santa 5K meant that he only had eight weeks to promote it. It was a word-of-mouth campaign that led to contributions of $2.50 per registrant back to the TRP, and helped turn the race into a drive to gather toys for needy children. So many toys were collected that a full trailer was needed to carry all of the donations.
