Proud family and friends filled the Crowne Plaza Ballroom to congratulate the winter graduates of Intellitec College. Mayor Steve Bach’s Chief of Staff Laura Neumann delivered the commencement address to the graduates.
“This city needs your positive contributions and unique input,” said Chief of Staff Neumann, “A highly trained and educated workforce is essential to our future.” Mrs. Neumann emphasized how both herself and Mayor Bach came to the government world from the private sector, “Like many of you, my real world, hands on experience gave me the tools to contribute to our wonderful community in a new way that I had never thought of before. I encourage you to allow all of your life experiences to weave the fabric of your life so that, when an unexpected opportunity arises, you have a wide variety of experiences to draw upon.”
Neumann closed by calling on the students to stay engaged in the community, “Thank you for investing in yourselves and furthering your education. We need people like you to step into leadership roles in our city and, if you are so inclined, our City Government. Even if you don’t chose to work as a public servant, be smart about the issues that matter to you and stay informed. Don’t sit on the sidelines. It is your obligation in this life to find joy. Whatever you do, do work you love.”
Intellitec College is a technical trade school that focuses on preparing students for the workforce in the fields of automotive repair, HVAC, computer networking, mechanical drafting, medical assistance, personal training, and biomedicine.
