For the 5th year in a row, the City of Colorado Springs was a big-time participant in the city-wide Take a Turkey to Work event. This year, the City joined forces with the Colorado Springs Utilities and United States Olympic Committee to give back to our community. Turkeys, canned goods, and cash were donated to the Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado. As an added bonus for members of the Colorado Springs Fire Department, (who contributed a generous cash donation to see this happen) Fire Chief Rich Brown accepted donations dressed as a turkey. Thanks to all of the City employees who donated 445 Turkeys, hundreds of pounds of canned goods, and 668 dollars to help feed hungry families in Southern Colorado!
